Queen Lizard is a "reckless" band, they write their own songs with eight hands and often (do not) get along. Famous for their homemade self-produced posters, they are «econo people» as were Mike Watt’s Minutemen, in the sense that they are efficient, thrifty, messy and self-sufficient. They always sound like they need to retrieve the black box from a missing plane. «We challenge our ideas about the world continuously but, in some ways, we are "conservative": "econo" is an old concept that can be ascribed to Thoreau, punks started from that: lack of means and fully use what you have. All you have is you, and you have to get something out of it. We’re not worried about whether or not our songs will like it. We play for us; they’re our songs, that’s all.
